Forgotten- Cat Patrick

Forgotten
By
Cat Patrick

My Rating:    Mehh. Cool concept, could have been better.

Current Rating on GoodReads: 3.84

Synopsis:

Each night at precisely 4:33 am, while sixteen-year-old London Lane is asleep, her memory of that day is erased. In the morning, all she can "remember" are events from her future. London is used to relying on reminder notes and a trusted friend to get through the day, but things get complicated when a new boy at school enters the picture. Luke Henry is not someone you'd easily forget, yet try as she might, London can't find him in her memories of things to come.

When London starts experiencing disturbing flashbacks, or flash-forwards, as the case may be, she realizes it's time to learn about the past she keeps forgetting-before it destroys her future.

The synopsis makes it sound cooler than it really is. Like seriously. That sums up the whole book.
THE SYNOPSIS TRICKED MEEEEE *wails*

I SPENT LIKE 18$ ON THIS BOOK, BECAUSE THE SYNOPSIS. CURSE YOU, FORGOTTEN.
I could have bought... the Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight! Monster of Men! Rebel Belle.. Assassin's Blade.. I MEAN, SO MANY THINGS I COULD HAVE BOUGHT INSTEAD OF THIS.

Ugh.

Anyways.

16 year old London (I always think of the Suite Life on Deck when I hear that name XD Good timess) can only "remember" things from her FUTURE. Dun dun duuuun! And after she experiences that future she sees, she forgets it the next day at precisely 4:33AM.
Cool, right?
I know. That's why I BOUGHT IT. *facepalm*
Sigh.
So like, yeah... and then, she meets a cute guy called Luke. I always think of LUKE. I AM YOUR FATHERRR DUN DUN DUUUUN!! when I hear that name but whatever.

She's all "OMG HE'S SO HOT!"
He's like "Heyyy! I'm new. You look cold. I'll give you my sweatshirt! *gallant voice*
Her: Yayyy his sweatshirrt!
*next day*
Him: Heyyy London
Her: ...Dude. Who the heck are you.
Him: ...
Her: OMG HE'S HOOOOT
Him: Hey. Let's go on a daaate.
Her: Yay
*next day..and so on*
Him: Haiii
Her: ..Who are you? but OMG HE'S HOOOOOTT
Him: I'm yow boyfriend. Let's go out.
Her: Okey doke.

Me: ...

Okay, maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration, but that's basically the story XD
Every night before 4:33 am AKA the time she "resets", she has to write a note of what interesting things happened that day, what homework she has, what she needs to bring, what to avoid because she knows what's gonna happen..yadayada. So she technically doesn'y forget forget Luke. But she falls in love with him everyday for the first time like 90 times so... yeah... a bit weird...*awkward silence*

The book is First 50 Dates in print form. With more paranormal. ....Wait hang on did I get that right? 51 First Dates.. First 51 Dates.. The movie where the girl has short term memory and she's stuck on the day of her car crash accident? ...no? ..okay.. Well.. it's kinda funny. You should watch it :D ..like not that the car crash and the situation is funny, but the general story of how the guy makes different first dates for her everyday..

*coughs* MOVING ON

The whole book was based to much on insta love romance, if you ask me. I want action, people. Action+Romance. Preferably Action > Romance. But Action = Romance is good too. This book was Action <<< Romance. ..TRIPLE CROC MOUTHS! ^.^
It had nice twists here and there.. but kind of predictable, and I didn't really like the writing style? Hehe..

I only read this book like a week and a few days ago but I can't remember what happened exactly.. I'VE FORGOTTEN. GET IT?

Lame, I know *sighs* Well the story just didn't stick.

Oh and you don't even want to hear my rant about Jamie. LONDON'S SUPPOSED BBF, YA KNOW? O.o

...Please highlight this part if you want to read my random...whatever its called ^.^ ...might be unintentional spoilers? *shrugs*

Jamie. Jammmmiiiiieeeee. Jamie Jamie Jamie. JAAAAAMIIIIEEEE. *facepalm*  you need some serious help.
L: I know what will happen.
J: Go away. Dont tell me my future. Freaky future guurrrrl
L: Don't do it, okay?
J: Psh what evahhh
**Jamie will have an affair with a married teacher.**
L: Jamie, you don't know what will happen. This is not going to turn out well!
J: IT'S MY LIIIIIFEEEE IT'S NOW OR NEVERRRR.. I'M NOT GONNA LIVE FOREVERRRRR
L: He might go to jail!
J: Yeah right. We'll just be careful.
L: Dude he's married.
J: So what.
**Jamie might get pregnant**
L: Jaaamieee..listen to meeee
J: GO AWAY LONDON, NO ONE LIKES YOU. BURRRRN
L: ...
J: I'm not talking to you anymore. Don't tell me what to do and not. ITS MY LIIIIIFE IT'S NOW OR NEVERRRR
L: Okay me sowwyyy.. Friends?
J: NO. WEEE. ARE NEVER EVER EVERRRR.. GETTING BACK TOGETHER.
L: :(
J: I am going to ignore you until the very last bits of the book because you tried to warn me about some serious stuff, gurrrrl
L: Humph. LUKE. LETS GO OPERATION DONT-GET-JAMIE-PREGNANT- GO GO GO MOVE
**London does sumfin and changes future**
J: I HATE YOUUUU
L: At least your safe.
J: HE WENT TO CUSTODYYYYY
L: Well me sowwy. Friends?
J: NOOOO. I TOLD YOU. WEEE. ARE NEVER EVER EVERRRR GETTING BACK TOGETHERRR

Me: Shut up already.

Bottom Line: Infuriating book with a cool concept but stupid characters. Has loads of twist but still, it does not make up for the stupidity. Too much instalove. Gross. Easy but not my kind of writing. Two stars purely for concept and idea.

Spearwood Academy One: Episodes 1–5 by A.S. Oren

Spearwood Academy One: Episodes 1-5 (The Spearwood Academy Series)
Source of pic: Amazon
Spearwood Academy One: Episodes 1-5 by A.S. Oren
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Current Rating on Goodreads: 4.14 of 5 stars
Pages: 144
Synopsis (via Goodreads):

Avalon is the first female of her kind in centuries. She is a dragon shapeshifter, who is painfully cursed to turn into her dragon form every night. Spearwood Academy has the answers to her questions, but there is just one problem, up until she came along it was an all boy school. How ever will this Harry Potter geek, Whovian and Nerdfighter wade through the waters of testosterone, greed and even love?

*****I recieved a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.*****

This story is set in modern times, and is centred on Avalon, the only living female dragon user of her time. Avalon lives in Bellingham, Washington with Edgar, her adoptive dad, who found her near his barn as a baby with just a blanket and a piece of paper with her name. Imagine his shock when the baby he found that day turned into a dragon at night, but he kept her and raised her as his own.
Now almost 15 years later, she changes forcibly into a dragon every night, and still has no idea why. But on her 15th birthday, she gets a shock. She's being sent to Spearwood Academy, an all boys boarding school in Tibet! Where all the students are like her. Will she finally know the truth?

Why does Avvi (Avalon) change each night?
Because of The Gypsy Curse.
(view spoiler)

MC aka Avalon: She's an advanced learner like moi!! *fist pump* And 15 and has been homeschooled!! ;DD A country girl who grew up on an orchard owned by her adopted dad Edgar, she's not afraid to get her hands dirty, aaandd, she's not vain, but nor does she have low self esteem. She's just happy how she is, which lends confidence and strength.
We could almost be twins!! o.O Except I don't have an adoptive dad nor did I grow up in da country, she's got blonde hair while I'm a brunette, there's no way she's as short as me *sulks*, and I don't shift into a dragon :P *giggles* Ohh yeaaah, and I'm waaayy more fashion obsessed.....I'M NOT VAIN THO OKAYY!?!! *huffs* XPP

Love interest(s)?
No love interests have been particularly chalked in yet, tho there has been some attraction, at least on Avvi's side........*opens mouth*......*smirks and zips lips*

Ships I may be rooting for:
Maaaybeee Triton and Avvi, but I have a feeling it's not gonna happen ;( *pouts*

There's definitely apparent greed and arrogance shown by the families (the dragon magic using society of sorts which are descended from the original town 1000 years back), shoved in your face each every way you look. The school with it's marble floors and gold gilding, the expansive rooms, the stuck up boys and self important men. And then there is the occasional and laughable royal teen:
Royal Teen: Hello. You're now my fiancée!
Avvi: *mouth gapes like a fish* Na-uhh get lost! So not happening!
Me: *chokes and falls over laughing*
It seems to be a male run world, which is a little annoying, but there isn't any emphasis on sexism, thank goodness *one point to Oren*.......in fact there's no mention on females within the families AT ALL o.O even tho you'd obviously have to have females marrying into the families for the gene lines to continue. I guess there just hasn't been any mention yet *shrugs*

“Our library carries non-fiction and fiction with the latest in everything. You must keep your grades up if you wish to use any of these things, with the exception of the non-fiction area of the library. Your personal assistant acts as a key. If your grades are good, you will be able to open any of these doors. If your grades fall below a 3.8, these doors will be locked to you until they are satisfactory again.”
Well at least they aren’t all fun and games. At least they take education seriously.”

Oh wow o.O *cracks up* XD I call bribery!

The plot:
Mmm. Well I think this wasn't actually that bad! This is a pretty good premise; though it doesn't manage to create any ominous feels. If I must admit, this story is neither dark, or mature. But it was fun, more like a dragon and magic filled plot mixed with elements of the likes of Harry Potter and Alex Rider.
“Ah, but Miss Clementine, this is no normal jet. Not even your Government has this technology yet. They can have it when we find something better. This machine can cross time.”
Me: o.O Whaaa? No jet can 'cross time'......*pauses* Ohh. Right. Magical. XD

The writing:
The way the story of the Gypsy Curse was written made me keep imaging Hermione telling the story of the three brother's and Death. XD
As for the writing in the rest of this book/novella, I was pleasantly surprised. I've read books by both traditionally published authors from the likes of Harpercollins, and new indie authors, and A. S. Oren's writing was quite well done and enjoyable! Of course it could be improved on, but it was up to standard so that I didn't find the writing choppy or unsophisticated, which is good *high fives Oren* XD

Cons:
The back-story, with how the dragons came to be:
I don't really get how this all works.....o.O I mean, almost all the elemental forms when related to the nature of the person mentions 'kindness' etc. If the majority were so veryy nice indeed, why did they pillage towns? The 'personalities' of the dragon magic users don't seem to match up with their actions at all :/
The cliffhanger:
*pouts* Reallyyyyyyy Oren?!?!?! XDD Stopping it in the middle of that? Meanieeeee *sulks* ;D
The length:
Too shortt!!! *screeches* :P

Speculation:
The 'bond' thingy with Avvi and Amr:
(view spoiler)
What dragon type is Avalon:
(view spoiler)

Thanks for letting me read this, Oren! ;D It was a good read, albeit short.....*sigh* I think I'll rwead more soon if I can figure out how to. *searches around*
3.5 stars

the Ask and the Answer (Chaos Walking #2) by Patrick Ness

Oh mah gosh, peoples. I dont think I can say anything without giving anything away from the first book or this one, but I have to say that if you love Dystopian and havent read this series yet, you do not know Dystopian. Ill mix in the first book review here a bit too because I dont think Ive written a proper one for that..o.O But yeah *clears throat* Ahem.
First of all, the whole series has really long titles XD But it fits really well with the book.. Like you would go AHAAA THATS where the title came from!! Makes perfect sense nowww!! :o :D
the Ask and the Answer
by Patrick Ness
From the Chaos Walking Trilogy

My Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yaayyyy!!

Current Rating on Goodreads: 4.23!

**Synopsis not shown due to potential spoilers for the first book.**

First book: The Knife of Never Letting Go.
Our story is told from Todd Hewitt's PoV. Oh just a sidenote, when you do actually read it, there will be spelling mistakes like 'tho' for 'though', 'stayshun' for 'station' and so on. THESE ARE NOT TYPOS XDD Theyre intentional. Dude I spent like 10minutes at first..searching through Google to see if I was the only one with a wacky copy *giggles* This is like that because Todd cant read or write. So dont blame him D: You'll get used to the writing soon enough! And will appreciate it because it is one of the most unique writing styles I have ever seen. So distinguishable and realistic. It's literally like youre RIGHT THERE :O Scarewy.

The story itself is reaaaally cooool. I wont go into much detail because its much bettah if YOU actually read it, but its always changing. Loads of plot twists, action, adventure, suspense, ect. Todd also meets our lovely Viola during his journey, and little does he know she'll become one of the most important people in his life later on. And Ive gotta say that Viola is just amazing O.O She's tough, strong, and independent. If she thinks something is wrong, she actually DOES something about it. *beams* Todd was a little most disappointing in the second book, but I can understand him and why he acted like that. ..well a little anyways..

Oh btw, did I mention the second book is in dual PoV? The first one isnt, but the second one is, and its so much more exciting, seeing through both of them!! They're so different, yet the same. Lots of misunderstandings too, in the second book, but they trust in each other and come back together to fight the common enemy, which is rare in lots of books. Usually, differences tear people apart permanently which is REALLY frustratin so read *tears hair* The first parts in the second book were also a little laggy for me, personally, but it picked up really fast and BAM. So yeah. It won't disappoint youuuuu!!

Oh oh I must say this. IBECAMETOACTUALLYLIKEDAVYINTHESECONDBOOK *covers face* XD The author did such a good job making a much hated character to sympathy deserving. *sighs*

Yeah...

Bottom Line: Amazing dystopian series with such an unique writing style and story concept with loveable characters and such hateable (?) antagonists that make you want to go inside the book and shoot them for all the trouble theyre causing in a frighteningly believable world which will haunt you and make you long for the next one and next one and next one and curse Patrick Ness for only writing 3 books that everyone MUST read. One of the best sequel books I have read, and a good way to start off new revelations to an amazing series.

Kudos to you if you understood that. *tips hat*

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer (Nightshade #1)

Nightshade (Nightshade, #1)
Source of pic: Nightshade Wikia
Nightshade by Andrea Cremer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Current Rating on Goodreads: 4.05 of 5 stars
Pages: 452
Synopsis (via Goodreads):

Calla Tor has always known her destiny:

After graduating from the Mountain School, she'll be the mate of sexy alpha wolf Ren Laroche and fight with him, side by side, ruling their pack and guarding sacred sites for the Keepers. But when she violates her masters' laws by saving a beautiful human boy out for a hike, Calla begins to question her fate, her existence, and the very essence of the world she has known.

By following her heart, she might lose everything- including her own life. Is forbidden love worth the ultimate sacrifice?

Okay. So one thing I found refreshing about Nightshade is that it's a bit like a reverted cast to the norm *does air bubbles*
You see, a lot of YA books will have the female 'heroine' and she ends up meeting this hot guy who turns out to be some kind of all powerful paranormal.
Basically, she crushes on him, he rejects her publicly in front of his group of people like him (same species or blah blah), she feels hurt and confused by the mixed messages 'cause he'll keep saving her one minute and then be dismissively rude the next (maybe he might even have make out sessions with the biaatchh aka whatever girl tends to give her the hardest time at school or whatever.....this is YA after all, and unfortunately that sometimes happens *winces* XD)..........but of course she can't stop her feelings for him even though he acts like a jerk and eventually he'll admit his feelings for her and reveal that all his mixed messages was because he was trying to keep her safe by un-involvement but at the same time not being able to properly hide his feelings *rolls eyes* :P
But what I hate about this plot stereotype is that sometimes the girl is shown to be sooooo pitifully in love with someone she doesn't even know that well!!! I mean, where's the self respect????? Seriously. *shakes head sadly*
In Nightshade, it was like the opposite; she's the kickass paranormal and Shay's the (view spoiler) human. Kinda funny to read!! XD

MC: Calla. Hmm. When I first started reading she was strong and kickass! ;D Tho all these male powers over her really agitated me *grits teeth* And her mother certainly didn't help *shoots glare* But what really annoyed me is that as the book continued and the plot unfolded, Calla's strength seemed to disintegrate :/ Which is as bad as, if not worse than if she didn't have a backbone to begin with *huffs* Because then I'm forced to read her become weak, and that's just saaaaad.

Love Interests:
I didn't like how when the packs started to merge Ren takes complete control away from Calla! It felt like Calla's packmates were turning against her. She's a frigging leader and warrior and it's like she becomes nothing. Hmmpph. For this reason and how he acts at points I am fully Team Shay!!!!!!! ......at least, at the moment....XD *scowls* Far out!! Plus he doesn't deserve her anyway. He might think he loves her but he's an oblivious manwhore. (view spoiler)
As for Shay, idk.........he's a mixture of sweet and lusty. I did find his possessiveness over Calla a little strange since he hasn't known her long........like, at all. But so far I def like him more than Renier, so yeahh. *shrugs*

Saving the worst charries for last.........Urgghhh Emile!!!! *gags* Aka Ren's sick urgghh of a dad! And Efron!!! They're so disgusting and sick! >>:OO!!!!!! I want to bash their brains in with a frying pan (Goooooo frying pansss!!! ;DD #LoTR #Tangled), slice their innards up with a huge kitchen knife, and lope their heads off with a frigging shovel!!!!! Hehe sorwieee for the brutal murders.....but in mah defense they totallyy deserve it XD
And whyyyyyy?? Why did Calla's mum just stand there??! She's too pliable and weak :/ I just wanna smack her to her senses! And it's like she's trying to train Calla to be the same!!! :O Duuude. Not cool!
*grins and clears throat* Uhh......heheh.....sorrwiee about the rant. XD

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at the end when Cal and Shay were running through Rowan Estate (view spoiler) Why you might ask? XD Because other than the occasional wraiths, I felt as if the book was missing the magic aspect till that end part.......except for, you knowww, the wolves :P but that's kinda ingrained in the story so mer, doesn't count *sticks out tongue*, so it was a laughably enjoyable moment (view spoiler) hehe! lol ;D
(view spoiler)
3 stars because I kinda the book, for some weird reason! :P But that's probs only 'cause I haven't really read many werewolf books......at least, compared to the abundance of angels, vampy wampys, demons and yadayada XDD

If I Stay- Gayle Forman

If I Stay
by Gayle Forman

My Rating: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ 3 Stars. Meh. Mediocre

Current Average Rating on Goodreads: 3.98

Synopsis:
Just listen, Adam says with a voice that sounds like shrapnel.

I open my eyes wide now.
I sit up as much as I can.
And I listen.

Stay, he says.

Choices. Seventeen-year-old Mia is faced with some tough ones: Stay true to her first love—music—even if it means losing her boyfriend and leaving her family and friends behind?

Then one February morning Mia goes for a drive with her family, and in an instant, everything changes. Suddenly, all the choices are gone, except one. And it's the only one that matters.

If I Stay is a heartachingly beautiful book about the power of love, the true meaning of family, and the choices we all make.

It..was an okay book, I guess. Not as good as everyone seems to make it, though. I think sometimes, book hype sorta destroys the book's chances of being even more popular because everyone suddenly has high expectations of it o.O If that made sense XD
Anyways,
It was a nice, heartfelt story. Mia herself is a very honest character which everything really comes from her heart. But a lot of times during her flashbacks, Mia irritated me to no end, disappointingly. She was a bit whiny, insecure, and just plain annoying :-/ I do have respect for her though, because she was strong throughout all her difficulties and hardships, and she seems so have a lot of experience in that area. This book is about family and relationships, making gut decisions, and if course, love.
During a drive with her family, things go awfully wrong and in an instant, she becomes an orphan. Dont worry, im not spoiling you. XD The car drive isnt the main storyline of the book :P So shes in the hospital all hooked to these wires and thingybobs on the brink of death, right? She has to make a decision. Does she want to stay, or does she want to let go?
The things that were really a big let down was the writing. Ive gotta admit I aint a fan of Gayle Forman's writing... Its choppy, nondescriptive, and sad to say but....boring. Boring. Bah.
...
Humbug. (You knew I was gonna say that, didnt youuuu *waggles fingers*) XD

*coughs awkwardly* Moving on.

Yeah so it was borrrrinn, so I was skimming a lot.. Me about 70% of the book:

It actually had a really creative concept with an inner layer of meaning, but it was just delivered wrong. But I did love Mia's brother....whatshisname.....TEDDY. Yes. Teddy was sooo cuuuutteee!! *coos*
and the whole Adam/Mia connecting with music thing was sweet! Music lovers and musicians unite! XD Adam was awesome. Him and Kim were the best people in here :D Kim grounded Mia, and I loved her for that XD Kim does not like boy crazed girls. Kim good.

If you turn into one of those girlfriends, always ponying around after her boyfriend, and speaking in the first person plural. WE love the winter. WE think Velvet Underground is seminal.
If you turn into one of those girls, I'll shoot you. - Kim

You're starting to act like one of those girls. Do you need to get me a gun? -Kim
 :D
The ending was great! A lot of people were all like 'Waahh I sobbed my eyes outttt', but I wasnt at thata extreme level.. It WAS sad, but not to that degree. I think the ending was a marvelous wrap up, and it made the book a whole lotta better. If It wasnt for the ending, maybe it would be 1.5 stars? You get where Im goin, yeah? :P I did tear up though..if you were wondering..

Oh there were a few freaky quotes... IT WAS JUST SO WEIRD AND AWKWARD TO READ *winces and facepalms*

And when he came off-stage afterward, he would be sweaty but it was such a clean sweat that part of me was tempted to lick the side of his face, like it was a lollipop. I didn't, though.

Kim, shoot me now.

Bottom line: Super short heartfelt read with badly written sentences and awkward dialouge with an annoying but respectful female protagonist who's going through a lot and makes her final choice in the end. Did I mention she also had.....erm...Interesting parents? O.o Theyre awesome, but a little stranngee XD Dude her mother swears so much *cracks up* and they both wore leather punk outfits for their wedding... Like I said, strange :P But its an interesting read. I wouldnt exactly recommend itt..but it isnt THAT bad xD So yeah! Cool!

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight- Jennifer E. Smith :D

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight (So long to type out -_-)
by
Jennifer E. Smith

My Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ LOVEDD!!
Current Average Rating on Goodreads: 3.81!

Synopsis:
Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. Having missed her flight, she's stuck at JFK airport and late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon-to-be stepmother Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's sitting in her row.

A long night on the plane passes in the blink of an eye, and Hadley and Oliver lose track of each other in the airport chaos upon arrival. Can fate intervene to bring them together once more?

Quirks of timing play out in this romantic and cinematic novel about family connections, second chances, and first loves. Set over a twenty-four-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

I haven't rated a book 5 stars in aaagess!! :O It's such a good feeling to click that 5 star button. And this book let me have that good feeling today. *beams* Worth it.
It was also third person PoV, which was refreshing because the last time I read third person was when I read the Book Thief in February...o.o Foreverrrrr!! The writing was spot on perfect even with the little flaws, and I didn't want it to end :(

American girl Hadley meets the amazing British boy Oliver after missing her original plane flight by FOUR MINUTES. Set over a 24 hour time period, their stories intertwine, and the rest is up to fate.

I have to admit, I picked up the book expecting a good laugh. The title was strange, the storyline seemed cheesy, what else did you expect!? But BAM it totally threw me off after the first few chapters. Sure it was sort of unrealistic, but we do need those kind of fairytales to give us good heartwarming daydreams sometimes ;) Surprisingly, the story itself was NOT focused on love. I think that's what I liked about it the most. If it was about a boy crazy 17 year old lovestruck girl smitten with accents and cute guys, I would have hated this. but Hadley was not any of those :D Awesome. It wasn't even technically "love at first sight". and believe me, I've read plenty of those in YA books that are supposedto be focused on action *facepalm* Anyhoo, our wondrous day begins when dear Hadley misses her plane flight to her dad's wedding. and also a certain cranky old lady plays her part ;) Swoonworthy Oliver the gallant knight takes it on him to help her, and he sets off our story that keeps readers glued to their books. Pure magic.

It's a pretty short book too..only like 236 pages long. But you'll never forget this, I guarantee. I would have finished it in less than 4 hours, but my parents were yelling at me to sleep..so yeah...XD A beautiful book that earns a place in your heart. Oliver will also stay in your heart......o.o He's amaazinnggg!!!<3 I bet you'll be expecting Olivers poppin up whenever you go to airports, but sadly, I'll have to discourage you about that since there's only one Oliver in the world ;( *sighs sadly* Such a shame.

Oh and I think Oliver deserves a whole section. *clears throat and begins Oliver gushing*:
Ohhhmerrgauushh!! LOVEEE!! :D <3<3 He was the perfect brit boy hottie XPP Hilarious, mysterious, chivalrous- *winks*-, cute, accent, good natured :P, blond (I..think..or maybe it was sandy o.O). Sounds a bit like my Liam, but he was all together really different from typical book boys. Just soooo looveewablee *huggles*

Highly recommended! :D

Paper Towns- John Green

Paper Towns
by John Green!

My rating: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆

Current Average Rating on Goodreads: 4.10 o.O

Synopsis: Quentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar. So when she cracks open a window and climbs back into his life — dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge — he follows.

After their all-nighter ends and a new day breaks, Q arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery. But Q soon learns that there are clues — and they’re for him. Urged down a disconnected path, the closer he gets, the less Q sees of the girl he thought he knew.

Mixed feelings.. I WANT to like it, but it's seemingly hardd....
This book is so overhyped. I mean.. a lot of John Green books are, in my opinion XD I think most all of his books are about these teenagers that read classic books and think philosophically of the meaning of life all the time.. It gets a little dull after a while.
I've read 3 John Green books out of 6 now (two being collaboration novels), and I've rated them all 3 stars except TFioS, and that might change if I reread it..who knows XD I used to rate everything high those days.

Anyhoo, this one is more unbelievable than most. and by unbelievable, I mean unrealistic.
Quintus loved Margo since he was young, and they found a dead body together while they were 10 or sumfin. Wow. Oookayyy thenn......XD They don't talk a lot while they grow up, Margo is one of those oh so popular girls in highschool; Quintus is presumably one of the more..lower class. And then one day out of the blue, Margo comes knockin at his window at the dead of night, tagging him along for a Margo style adventure! Whoop whoop! and then she goes poofff the next day. Maaggiiccc. So Quintus makes takes and makes it his job to find her, bringing a bunch of his friends with him, and doing all sorts of crazy stuff to find her.

Well thats the basic storyline. Ikr! That's it!! Theres nothing more to it! *sighs*
The whole book was generally nonsensical to me. I just don't getany of these characters!! No relation, or whatever. It was written well, typical John Green awesome writing with seriously....HEAPS OF METAPHORS *facepalm* I don't even know where he comes up with these things ._. There are like paragraphs of metaphors in every. single. book. he writes. So weird. So yeah, as usual, I was drowning in his metaphors. They're kinda hard to understand too...XD Something about strings and water tanks and grass. o_O *scratches head* My brain isn't cut out for this stuff.

The ending was alright.. bit surprising, really. The way things turned out.. I think out of all his books, TFioS had the best ending. The other ones were ended too abruptlyyy! and they confuzzled meee! Endings are the hardest things to write in a book..the wrap up for the journeyy.. this wasn't his best.

Oh I remember saying I was officially hooked into the story maybe 50% in..yeah that feeling lasted about 50 pages *sigh* Was a nice feeling..shame it went away ;(

I dont' really know what to write about this one, honestly :-/
Bottom line: It was a very strange confusing unrealistic book with loads of metaphors that are meant to sound sophisticated, but it adds to the unrealisticness, and the characters were really annoying and 2 dimensional- *snaps fingers*- PAPER PEOPLE. Oh the irony. Plus it was a bit boring in some parts, and the ending was a shame. That is all.

-MissOddball™ Over and Out. *salutes*

But i'm still gonna watch the film XD So curious

... How the heck do you get rid of the white highlight ._. *frustrated noise* Technologically impaired -_- GO AWAY, HIGHLIGHT. *jabs at random buttons*

I can't get rid of it D: MY EYESS ARE BURNINGG FROM THE LIGHT *squints blindly and reaches out* SOMEONE HELPP XD

Fire and Flood - Victoria Scott

HEYLOOOO! It's Mad :D I haven't been on for a while, cuz I been SUPER busy, but I just read this book O.O I mean, I read A LOT. I've prolly read about 30 books (most likely more, but I don't keep track. Ain't nobody got time for that) So anyhoo... I just picked up this book, like oh, pretty cover, not expecting much and WHAM! I was hooked from the first page. This book is effing amazing. So anyways, after I finished I was like I MUST TELL THE WORLD ABOUT THE AMAZINGNESS THAT IS THIS BOOK. So here I am, taking a break from my busy life, because this book is just WAY too great to not rant about. Enjoy :D!!!!!!!

Fire and Flood

By: Victoria Scott

Fire and Flood by Victoria Scott
305 pages
Mad: FRIGGEN ADORES THE CRAP OUT OF THIS BOOK!!!! The main character is pretty much the funnest MC ever and if she existed in real life I'm positive we'd be besties. Then there's the PANDORAS! Oh my goodness you cannot resist the adorable!!!!!!! Just love. That's all I can say about this book. LOVEEEEEEE it.

____________________________________________________
Tella Holloway is losing it. Her brother is sick, and when a dozen doctors can't determine what's wrong, her parents decide to move to Montana for the fresh air. She's lost her friends, her parents are driving her crazy, her brother is dying—and she's helpless to change anything.

Until she receives mysterious instructions on how to become a Contender in the Brimstone Bleed. It's an epic race across jungle, desert, ocean, and mountain that could win her the prize she desperately desires: the Cure for her brother's illness. But all the Contenders are after the Cure for people they love, and there's no guarantee that Tella (or any of them) will survive the race.

The jungle is terrifying, the clock is ticking, and Tella knows she can't trust the allies she makes. And one big question emerges: Why have so many fallen sick in the first place?

Victoria Scott's breathtaking novel grabs readers by the throat and doesn't let go. (goodreads)

Mad's Review <3

Where do I even begin?! This book is just so fricken amazing! I can't even...! Words are failing me! It's so...! EEEEEEE!!! I LOVES IT.

Okay firstly: Tella. Otherwise known as 'I'm pretty sure someone stuck a mind reading device in me, collected my thoughts for a year or two and then crafted a character out of them' I swear! She's me from a parallel universe or something!!! I didn't see a single instance in the ENTIRE BOOK where she didn't do pretty much exactly what I would've done in the given situation. Well done Victoria Scott, well done.

For starters, she gets this wonderful little high tech ear device thingy that tells her about this competition called 'The Brimstone Bleed' that winning would give her what she needs to save her brother. So what does she do? Immediately runs off into the night to a sketchy location to join it. HECK YEAH CHICKA! *dances around* Worried about the fact it's called 'The Brimstone BLEED?' Nah. Carry on, I am just way too legit to care about such trivial matters as creep names. Hair's bothering me? Lop it off. I just fricken love her to pieces. And then how she is with Madox?! I'm like: I just love you so much!!! Was there ever a more perfect main character? NOPE. I assure you there is not.

She's just SO great! I'm all like: *giant creepy smile* You want to be my friend!?

------------------------------------------------------
"I close my hand around the lid and pull it off. Inside is a tiny pillow. I imagine all sorts of miniature animals using it in their miniature beds. But that's dumb, because how would they ever find a pillow case to fit?"
-Fire and Flood pg. 7

"Turns out I never properly appreciated the awesomeness that is toilet paper. Next time my mom asks me to pick up a jumbo pack at the store, I will hold my head high."
-Fire and Flood pg. 61
______________________________________

Then there's MADOX. And may we just take a moment to recognize the perfection that is that name? *moment of silence* Mmmmkay moving on, so I can fawn over him some more:  *squeals loudly* HE'S JUST SO CUTE!!!!! *kisses all over his entire face* I can't say too much about him cuz it'd be spoilers... but seriously!!! I fricken adore his face off!!!!! I just wanna cuddles with him and kiss him and MEH!!!!! Dang, Victoria Scott, I gotta give you major props for Madox, because I'm fairly certain I have never come across a single more perfect thing in a book. Ever. Seriously. I mean he's like tied with Will Herondale for perfection. Like seriously. MAJOR perfection. Pretty much the whole book is just perfection.

THE PANDORAS!!!!!!! At first I heard pandoras and I'm like... okayyyyyyyy.... Then I read the first scene with one and now it's more like PANDORAS!!!!!!EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! PANDORASSsssSSsssSSSSsssSSsSsSSSssSSSssssSS!!!!!!!!! *fills with massive amounts of giddy glee* Yeah. I'm not gonna say much about them, cuz again, spoilers, but, just know. THEY'RE SO LEGIT!!!!!!!!! And I don't think I've ever loved any single person I've never met better then Victoria Scott simply for the reason that she came up with the legit, awesome, adorable, I FRICKEN WANT ONE- ness that are pandoras.

Then there's Guy. (unfortunate naming choice in my opinion, but it's okay, he makes up for it in sexy) On a level of broody to sullen Guy starts off somewhere around a 'Touch me and you DIE. Heck don't even look at me. You know what? Don't even THINK about looking at me, cuz I will know, and I WILL glare, and you know, possibly murder you in your sleep.

_______________________________________________
The guy looking down at me is very tall, or maybe he just seems so because I'm still on the ground. He appears to be about my age, though the broad width of his shoulders tell me he may actually be a couple of years older. His eyes are blue. Not in the way that makes me buckle at the knees and start naming our children, but the kind of blue that makes my breath catch. A cold, hard blue that looks more like a statement than a color.
-Fire and Flood pg. 31

So obviously the proper response is: BEEP BEEP BEEP Backin' up!!! Please don't kill me!

But after you get to know him a little it's more like: *drools* Oh HELLO O.O

Then about half way through the book, just be prepared to fall into a pile of panting mush whimpering 'kiss me, please, just kiss me.

So how to sum up this book....

Fire and Flood is an addicting, exciting, fun as jumping off a cliff and magically sprouting wings type of read. It's a don't bother me, I'm-reading-and-crap-just-got-real kind of book. It's a book that makes you grin uncontrollably and accidentally burst out into hysterical laughter in the middle of math class.

I dare you to not read this book. I just DARE you.

Questions from SpiffyBooks *claps hands together*:

1. Where are you from?
Cass (Oddball): Koreaaa! Asian girly in da housee *waves*
Belle (Bloodsucker): I'm from Australia! *confetti* And the other Misses are situated around the globe! So I guess you could say we're global hehehehe *gigglesss*
Mad (Madness): USA. Exciting right? Even more exciting? Utah. whoo.

2. What is your favourite genre to read?
Cass: YA, of course ;) Contemporary and dystopian, mostly.
Belle: YA. Full stop. I live young adult, but then again I AM a young adult so I guess that makes sense. If you want me to specify further, I'd say probably fantasy........but of course that means YA fantasy :P
Mad: YA. Duh. I AM a hormone ridden teenage girl after all.

3. Do you read one book at a time or 10 like me?
Cass: Err, normally I like to read one at a time, but right now I'm reading like 7 because everything I'm reading is really boring..so I try a new one, but that turns out to be hecka boring..adds a new one, boring, boring- you get the point XD It just starts to pile up pretty fast .-.
Belle: I used to read one at a time but ever since I found Goodreads last year and got to meet all those wonderful fellow booklovers, I've gotten into a habit of reading a few books at the same time XD Never more than 5 at once tho, that'd be too hectic for me! :O
Mad: Meh. Depends. Like if the book is the best thing ever there's no way I would put it down for a single second to read something else. But if I'm reading a dull book, I sometimes stray...

4. What novel do you with is turned into a movie?
Cass: THE DARKEST MINDS!!<33 THEY BETTER GET THE CASTING FOR MY DEAR LIAM RIGHT WHEN THEY DO. OR I'LL SUE THEM XD
Belle: Hmm. Many, but I'm always worried if they're gonna ruin it.........and unfortunately that happens a lot, especially with YA adaptions. While I'd love for lots of books to be adapted, I think that novels with the dystopian theme tend to be more likely to achieve at least relative success because fantasy is much harder to bring alive and onto a screen with so much more up to our imagination. So with that in mind I'd probably say The Darkest Minds! ......*double takes* WOW! We're totally twinning Cass! XD
Mad: The Infernal Devices. But they'd most likely screw up the casting for Will and I'd have to go kill them all sooooooo.... maybe not.

5. Do you have any pets?
Cass: One dog. Maltese :D
Belle: I've got two totallyy cutesyyy cats! Purebred British Shorthairs <3 I luuvvv them to death!
Mad: Nope, my parents don't love me. *sobs* But I have fictional ones :D

6. What hobbies, besides reading, do you have?
Cass: Hmmm. Well I like sleeping and eating, if you count those as hobbies XD I honestly dont knoww. Maybe just browsing Goodreads and taking walks. Oh and texting! and bloggingg ;D Who knew blogging could be so time consuming o.O
Belle: Uhhh, I like to play puzzle games and video games, watch moviesss!! I luuvvvv moviesss! Listen to music? Watch VD (that one is totally on you Natta).....OHH and I dance! <3 And stalking Goodreads......newly blogging as well, of course *winks*
Mad: Besides reading.... Ummmmm being antisocial? Punching things? I play soccer (goalie) and I write and I love doing crafts and building things and watching shows and staring at attractive males... *coughs* The Hemsworth brothers *coughs* Logan Lerman *coughs* Theo James *coughs* Oh sorry, must be coming down with a bit of a cold.... OH! Also stalking Cassandrajp's tumblr, she draws AMAZING YA fiction art!!!
LOOK AT IT!

7. What is the most adventurous thing you have done?
Cass: I live a pretty secluded life, hence the want of doing extreme sports XD Seriously, the most adventurous thing I've done is gone on a trip when I was 8 with only mah classmates/teachers that involved a plane and train rides *facepalm* I need to get out more.
Belle: Yeaaahh. I know. We're twinning again but my life is pretty boring so far as well! ;( So idk. Going on a roof maybe? *shrugs helplessly* I'm totally gonna skydive and all that one day tho! ;D
Mad: *shrugs* I dunno... Zip lining and repelling in Mexico? We rode mules!!! They was SO CUTE!!!

8. If you could meet anyone from any era, who would it be?
Cass: Tough onee! I'd say J.K. Rowling :P
Belle: Depends, can they be fictional? *waggles eyebrows* XD No? Darrnnnn! *pouts* Well then, maybe..........a VIKING!!!! I've been watching the TV show, Vikings! Soooo awesome btw....*cheers*......and I think it'd be pretty cool to find out if Ragnar Lothbrok and Lagertha existed xD Don't you think that would be awesome?! XDD Well.......as long as we could actually talk instead of them killing me or sumfin.......'caus......you knoowww, I actually value my life, surprisingly.....*grins*
Mad: Will. My Will.

9. What is your favourite book?
Cass: Easy. Harry Potter, duh. Darkest Minds and Book Thief in close second!
Belle: Well that's just mean *narrows eyes* XD But if I had to choose, I'd probably pick Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas <3
Mad: Ughhhhhh? Really?! I can't choose ONE!!! Maybe The Mortal Instruments? There is just too many great books out there, I hate to limit myself to ONE favorite.

10. What is your least favourite book?
Cass: *thinks* I have a few.. either Twilight, Taking Chances, Mockingjay, or Under the Never Sky. I'll say...Taking Chances. Dont read it XD Yuck.
Belle: Ooooo now that's a question I don't see often *grins* I might have to say Twilight because I found Bella (who is not related to me in any way.....my name is Belle, not Bella yah hear? *grumbles* XD) to be an extraordinarily weak charrie.....huh? Ohh, charrie means character ;D .....and if there's one thing I hate in books, it's weak female presence. Blehhh.
Mad: I try not to be a hater... But the third book in Delirium (Which I loved by the way), Requiem, Was AWFUL!!! Nothing happened the ENTIRE BOOK. And she never chose between the love interests at the end and that was THE LAST BOOK IN THE SERIES!

11. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Cass: Italy! No wait, America. Australiaa..No..Italyyy...*torn* XD Sigh. Italy it isss. Because Europe has beautiful roads and architecture<3 Plus Italy is the land of spaghetti XD Yum
Belle: Where to goooo........*scratches chin* I'm honestly not sure, and it doesn't help that I'm seriously lacking in geography studies *pouts*........maybe France? Idk whyy but I like the idea of going to France :D I really wanna see what Christmas is like in winter! XD You always see it snowing at Christmas time in movies and stuff, but since I live in Australia aka in the SOUTHERN hemisphere........yeaahhh ;-/ So at least SOMEWHERE in the northern hemisphere! :)
Mad: Ummmmm. *curls up in a ball* I DON'T KNOW!!! TOO MANY CHOICES! DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!!!!!
